Piel

Frotage with charcoal, 56x95cm.

Performative action, result of performative action in collaboration with Adrián Arias Pomontty and profesor Rafael Castillo Zapata.

Venezuela, 2023.
This artwork was created during the opening of the Allegro Verde exhibition at La Casa Disiente. Throughout the exhibition, the textures of trees are prominently featured in various formats. In the piece titled Piel (Skin), Elena Victoria invites us to explore the transformative connection between her own body and the trees found in the garden of La Casa Disiente. Through the frotage technique, Elena Victoria performed live, collaborating with Adrián Arias Pomontty, who provided a sonic improvisation during her performance. Together, they engaged in a dialogue on stage, intertwining sound and embodied movement onto two sheets of paper. Meanwhile, Castillo Zapata composed a poetic text on the walls of the exhibition space.

This project has been made possible with the generous support of the Behörde für Kultur und Medien Hamburg.
